Bored and annoyed

My staff went to the lake for a quick visit without me. They claim they didn't need me messing with the painting of the floor there. What am I supposed to do now? I'm bored since there is no-one serving me for a half day. I have to figure out something...

Imagine this

My mom made the bed for me! Imagine this: soft double mattresses, pillowtop mattress, sheets, covers and finally a fluffy duvet under my skinny butt. I guess I can sleep here!

Cleaning day

My mom was cleaning up the house today.

I thought it was my task to make sure that their bed wouldn't be totally cleansed of my furs. I mean, a bed without some catfur would be just so sad and kind of steril, don't you think?

Fireplace

I got to testdrive the new fireplace in the lake cottage from a kitty perspective. I approved.

Snooze

Life at the lake really wears you out, you only notice it when back home. Well, it's nothing s good nap wouldn't fix!

Hard at work

Testing the kitchen cabinets, this one seems ok.

Ok, now I need to rest. But don't mind me mom, keep on building! 

Bob the builder

Today I'm helping my mom while she is assembling a kitchen for us. It's really hard work!

At the lake again. My mom is painting the walls like a crazy person, and I'm hanging out on a window sill. If only there weren't a mosquito net in it, I would jump out in a second...

Hello new week!

Are you the kind of cats who wake up their staff early in the mornings? I'm not. Well I used to be but then I came to my senses and noticed how lovely it is to sleep late beside my mom's feet. Especially now when she's still on holiday. We can sleep as LOOONG as we  want to. Bliss!

My mom says thanks for your harness tips! I'm sure she'll find a good one. Too bad for me though...

Carlos Houdini

By looking at this picture you might not necessarily think of me as a great escape artist. But that I am for sure. There is no harness or leash that could stop me from escaping if I really set my mind into it. Well, at least the two sets of harness my mom has bought so far...

Anyhow, the woods, birds, bugs and mice at the lake have been so tempting, that I have escaped my old and new harness a couple of times. I even got myself out of them both at the same time, since my mom put both of them on me at the same time trying to keep me properly on the leash. Well, it didn't stop Carlos Houdini! 

I was even able to resist the lure of the red dot! So far they have used the red dot as a sure way to get me out of my favourite hide-out under the cottage. But today I was so determined to resist the red dot that it didn't work for me at all! Allthough, the minute my mom put the dot away and called me, I came to her. I noticed that I was short on scritches and went to get my daily dose. I'm a cat and I can change my mind. Then she caught me and took me inside the cottage... Well, my favourite kibble was waiting for me and the bed of the humans was unoccupied, so everything was ok after all.

So, my mom has a question I actually wouldn't want to publish here, but since she's my secretary, I guess I have no choice... Does your humans have a good tip of a foolproof harness for me? And where could one get ones hands on one?

Such a busy day for my mom, she's too tired to blog for me. Maybe tomorrow she'll have more time for me!

Carlos the Great Hunter

Friends, I have huge news for you! After a  couple of hours after we arrived to the lake, I caught and ate my very first mouse all by myself! Who would have thought that a spoiled indoor cat would be capable of this!

There it is! I'm so proud of myself! First a fresh live fish, now a mouse. What next, a bird maybe?

Have to catch some sleep, since we're going to the lake again. The humans are going to be so busy painting the walls and everything, that they don't have time to watch my every move... So I might just  try to sneak out again...

A fair deal

The humans were still eating the smoked fish today.

I got to chew on a head of the fish. Quite a fair deal I would say.

Like nothing was happening

Here I am, taking a peaceful nap on the sofa. Totally ignorant of the fact that just behind that window, the big one is making smoked fish at the same time. My mom said she could smell it all the way to the living room, but I didn't even blink.

Well, as soon as the fishes were on the dining table, I was up and ready. Yes. I got some tasty bites and it was delicious!

I'm...so...tired...

Good times at the lake, good times... Loads of fresh air, some sneaking out to the woods in the night, then returning to canned food inside the new cottage. Good naps on humans new bed. Also some throwing up inside my travel box on the way home but let's not go into more details on that one.

Anyhow, now I'm back home and it's time to relax and have another nap!

In the meantime at the lake

And so we went to the lake again. Good news is that my new cottage is nearly finished! I got to inspect the indoor spaces thoroughly. I found a lot of good but some bad things too. 

The good thing is that the cottage has loads of big windows. I can easily check out the outdoor life even while I'm indoors. 

The downside with the big windows is, that the humans can also clearly see when they are coming in, if I'm by the door waiting for a possibility to sneak out... Have to plan a new strategy for that...

Under the raspberry bush

I found a great hideout in the garden. My mom has a little space where she grows some eatable stuff (like berries), and this raspberry bush grows like crazy! Last year it was a lot smaller, now I can hide under it! 

Also, a lot of tiny interesting bugs were buzzing around the branches too, so you can guess this was my happy place for a good while.

The flowers that just weren't meant to be

My mom brought some pretty flowers in from our garden. We have no idea what they are called in English, but they grow in a bush and smell very nice. 

Anyway, I had a whole different plans for the flowers than my mom had. She placed them on the kitchen table and asked the kids to keep an eye on me that I wouldn't knock down the vase. Well, let's just say I'm much faster than the kid's eyes, so you can probably guess what happened even without a picture. Yes, water on the floor too.

For the night my mom made some special arrangements. She put the vase in the kitchen sink.

You know the flowers called my name and asked me to remove them from the vase. So I did.

One of them ended up all the way to the floor. After seeing this in the morning, my mom didn't even try to put he vase on the table. End of the story of these flowers.

My new gear

Check this out, I have a new harness!

My mom ordered it all the way from the UK, so it must be pretty awesome. The reason behind this purchase is the fact that my previous harness wasn't quite strong enough to keep me from escaping. This should do the trick, allthough they don't stop me from trying though.

I'm just not sure if it looks cool on me or just plain ridiculous. What do you think?

Happy Monday!

This was no ordinary Monday since it is my mom's birthday! We kept the festivities very low key as usual, but I gave her my present early in the morning.

I slept peacefully and lovingly beside her feet, and let her sleep as long as she wanted. I actually slept there until 10 am, and she had gotten up already long time before that. Well, what a kitty wouldn't do for his human!

I smell TUNA!

The big one was making home made pizza and I immediately noticed he was putting tuna in it! I was very interested. Luckily I was given my share of it. Yes, premium tuna for humans, omnomnom!!

Mr Funny Paws

So my secretary can't stop laughing at the way my front paw is positioned while I'm taking a well deserved nap. I don't see anything funny in it, I think this is just as normal position as any other I choose to take. Humans...

The heat is on

It's been a very hot day outside, and I haven't seen much of my staff. They have been on the beach or just out in the garden. I've been chilling inside, it's nicer and cooler here. The heat outside might be a bit uncomfortable for my furry self. 

But not to worry, it seemes that the heat will go away, and we'll return to have typical Finnish summer weather again...

Take me to the beach!

My staff sneaked out to the lovely sandy beach without me, I only found this empty beach basket when they had already returned. Darn. 

I scratched it a bit just to make sure they noticed I didn't appreciate them leaving me behind.

By the way, have you noticed that I've been answering some comments lately on my comment box? The secretary got her mobile settings finally fixed so that my replying has never been this easy.

Her mobile is like glued into her hand anyways, so she might just as well make herself useful and type my comments to you! See ya!
