You see, it's still a bit hard under my tiny skinny butt. It could use some padding you know.

It's been a fun and busy weekend, and I'm ready for a relaxing solitude when the week begins tomorrow. It just might happen that we would be going to the lake on the weekend, well see if that happens.

Fireworks!

It's party time, finishing up the summer cottage season celebrations around here. There are firecrackers, fireworks, candles and bonfires. Not that I would care but the humans seem to be quite excited. 

I just hope they would go to sleep soon so that I could stop supervising them. Yaaaawwwnnn...,

A new cat tree!

Marvellous, my mom has finally assembled a new cat tree for me! Well, actually it's not new, but look how nicely she put it right beside one of my favourite places, the fire place.

It's going to be so much fun jumping on the cat tree from the top of the fire place.

...I'm just sleeping here on my favourite spot. Resting my tiny kitty head on a cold and hard laptop you have so carelessly left on my most favourite napping spot...

Cooling off

Since it's been such a hot weather around here, I try to find some nice and cool places to hang out. Here is one good example.

A metallic fireplace wood carrier, or whatever it's called. My mom is complaining that I haven't been on her lap lately. Well, she should cool herself down to something like +20 celcius, then I could consider taking a nap on her. Now I just have to wait for the cooler temperatures to come so that a human lap becomes bearable again.

Hello friends! I'm kind of laying low for now and trying to stay away from my staff's way for a while. You see, I just might have done something pretty silly here at the house, and I must try not to annoy them too much right now...

You know when a cat gets a feeling to go out, and that kitty knows where he could go out. Well, it might happen that the before mentioned kitty would try really hard to get through the door he knows leads outside. Obviously a kitty can't get through a thick wooden door, but he just might cause some damage while trying...

I have to admit that these pictures don't really show the reality, which is that the seals of the door are pretty much gone... Now at the summertime it's not too big of a deal, but when the fall and winter kicks in, we don't want the cold air creeping inside.

So yes, guilty as charged. I guess the big one will be cursing me all the way to the hardware store!

I love sunpuddles!

Especially when you can combine a sunpuddle, a windowsill and a sofa, then it's just pretty pawsome!

Chill out dude

It has been great sunny and warm days lately. It seems the summer finally found us. We just don't know how long this wonderful weather will last. 

Anyhow, I was chilling out with my mom on the lawn. It was very nice. She tried to play with me with that long straw, but I wasn't interested. You see, I was busy watching the birds passing by.

Ode to all black cats!

I heard it's the black cats appreciation day! That's more than fine with me. This is my ode to all of the great black cats out there. Let's rest our eyes on one fine example of an anonymous black cat, we can call him Mr C.

It's good to be a black cat today! Nevertheless, I think all colors and furs and furless cats are just as great anyway!

Sunday fun day!

I have my staff back from the lake, so everything is back to normal. They brought the froggies home too, maybe I'll meet them tomorrow if they survive that long.

Tiny frogs!

The kids found some tiny frogs from the lake today! They were visiting the woods and another smaller lake on the other side of "our" lake when they found them. Obviously they took the frogs with them back to the cottage. 

The only thing missing here is ME, because my ignorant and ungrateful staff LEFT ME HOME since they are staying there only one night! OMC they can be sure I will pay them back! I would have had so much fun with those frogs! I would have...or I could have... Ok, what would a kitty do with a frog? Can they be eaten or are they just real live living toys? Does anyone have experience?

When the world is your litter box

There is one thing I especially like when roaming around the grounds at the lake.

The fact that I can pee wherever and whenever I like! The humans don't care at all! There are no flower beds or bushes I shouldn't be digging on. It's just between me and wild mother nature and I can do my thing the way I like. That's cool.

I guess I don't give the big one too much credit on this blog. Well, we do have our moments, like here in these pictures. He's giving nice scritches to me on the sofa.

See that red line on his hand though? That's my paw-work right there. 

But we do have these sweet moments too.

Trust issues

Would you trust this innocent looking 

kitty? 

My staff did, and it mostly paid off. You see, they have noticed that it is pretty useless to put me on a leash at the lake, since I WILL get myself free of them. So this time when I was meowing in the cottage that I wan't out, my mom opened the door, let me out and said to me to be a good kitty and come home soon. I was pretty surprised, I didn't have to run and escape, I could just walk around calmly. It turned out that I stayed quite close to them anyway, and for the night they took me inside the cottage, which meant quality laptime with my mom so I wasn't complaining.

All was good and well, until today when we were leaving home. I was inside the cottage just to make sure I wasn't too far away when they would start the car. Well, I was able to open the door and escape... They noticed me going and tried to run after me. Obviously I ran then too. For a while I was nowhere to be found, but luckily I did return in time. I guess my staff would have been too angry with me if I wouldn't have done that...

Now we're back at home, and it's time for some serious recovery naps!

They usually use these things to catch fish in the water, but now they caught me!

I think the smell of the fishes on this thingie was too tempting, so I had to check it out. But don't worry, I was able to get out of it by myself. Unlike many poor fishes, hee hee hee...

Life at the lake

Oh boy the car travel was a big misery for me this time... But I survived, and it was so worth it! Or what do you think about this: fresh mouse for dinner (caught by myself!!), fresh live dead perch for dessert, lake water for refreshing drink. Later on, some grilled perch for supper as a side dish for my kibble. Oh the happy kitty life!

Weekend and the lakeside are coming up! My mom has promised to take it easy and relax, we'll see what happens!

Boring...

Office by day and beach by late afternoon, that has been the agenda for my mom these couple of days. I think she's trying to compensate the holiday that ended by enjoying the few sunny days. This summer has been really weird, so cool and rainy. We Finns really need our proper summer to compensate the long and stupid winter we have to bear. This time it seems we didn't get it. 

So the conclusion with all this babbling is, that I am really bored. I hope mom has  time to concentrate on me soon...

Monday!

We survived!!!

I'm on my own now...

Today was the last day of holiday for my mom, and tomorrow she'll return to work. She's a bit sad, but that is NOTHING compared to the pain I feel when left alone for the days without proper service! I don't know how I'm going to get used to it again. Well, I've survived it before so I guess I'll manage...

I hope Monday will be gentle to all of us!!

...my mom kindly reminded me with a picture proof why they didn't need me supervising their floor painting project...

So I guess she had a valid reason for leaving me home. Anyways, there was no  problems at all, and the party was great! Thank you da tabbies for coming over, you rock! I have my staff back home with me now so the service level is back to normal again. Have a great Caturday!
