I think I've said it before, but me and the big one agree at least on one thing. The secretary has a really bad taste of music.

Luckily I have found a way to stop the annoying music. I have learned how the big one does it.

Like this! I just step on the radio and hit the power button with my paw. Problem solved!

Living the good life

It's good to be a cat. Especially in the morning when the staff wakes up early and prepare themself to work and school. It's grey and heavy rain outside. Then this above mentioned lucky cat can just slowly stretch himself in the bed, go eat some breakfast....

...and move himself on a fluffy and soft carpet to take a nice morning nap while the staff are leaving. In these kind of days the secretary wishes she was a cat, and I'm so happy to be one!

Wordless Wednesday

Oldie but goodie

I don't usually go for different cat toys that much. I rather play with some stuff the humans have, that's much more interesting. But the other day I happened to find an old toy of mine, a ball with feathers attached to it. Suddenly I felt drawn towards it. I decided to try and rekindle the spark with the toy. 

Well, it was quite ok while it lasted, but no. It just didn't feel the same anymore. I think we have lost the spark and it ain't coming back. I need a new toy. Preferably filled with some decent nip. Staff, consider this as a purchase order.

It wasn't me...

I SWEAR! However if I could have, I would have. I swear. Way to go anonymous black kitty!

Supervising on the night shift

The secretary got the kids to sleep, and started her night shift on some of her household duties. I naturally had to interrupt my well begun evening nap and come downstairs to check up on her. The stuff she was doing seemed a bit weird to me.

It seemed that she was covering the kids' school books with some kind of transparent and sticky plastic. The task involved scissors too, so I had to keep a close eye on her so that she wouldn't hurt herself.

Well, whatever point she had with this strange stuff, it seemed quite harmless. So I proceeded to get some evening snack and then returned to my nap.

I'm hiding

I don't know what's up with my secretary, but she's become incredibly clinging lately! I'm not sure if she's trying to train me to become more of a lap cat or what. Nowadays she's always lifting me up on her lap, and giving me a lot of skritches. It's kind of nice to a certain limit, but I think we are crossing that limit now...

So I go hiding now, to get myself some privacy... If this continues, I'll have to get her a stuffed cat or something... Where is Carlos the 2nd when I need him?

Just another quiet day

Now I finally have my secretary back. When she came home last night, I just parked myself on her tummy, purred and stared her for a long time. She didn't have a heart to move me, so it took a while before she was able to fall asleep. You can call it a sweet and intelligent revenge, or you can call me a sappy and sensitive kitty who just missed his mom...

Me and many other blogging cats are missing Sparkle today. It was very sad news that she's not among us anymore. May you rest in peace, thank you for all the great stuff you shared with us!

There she goes again...

My secretary has been on the run again. And today she's going to a party.

I despise that. You know, it's only Thursday and all! No time to party and leave your kitten behind on a weekday!

I'm thinking hairballs on the white carpet or wild cat fits very early in the morning when she's desperately trying to sleep before going to work again... I'm sure I will figure out something...

The World Record cat?

The kids have this interesting book, Guinnes World Records 2014. There is all kinds of interesting stuff. I wonder if I could make it there someday? What would my record be? I have to give this a thought...

Humans are weird

I don't always get humans and their doings. Like today, when I noticed that they had put an empty (or so they claim...) dry food box on to a pile of garbage to be burned in the fire place. 

I mean, what a waste of a perfectly good box! I tried to save it in order to investigate if there should be some leftover dry food pieces gotten stuck inside the box. Also, you should never burn a box since a cat has ALWAYS use for a box.  Even if it was empty, I could always sniff it a between my meals, since it still smells heavenly... 

But, my staff didn't get my idea at all, so the box has been taken from me again. Shame on them.

Monday...

...I think we're done. Please go away already.

Hunting is hard work

Ever since we came home from the cottage, I've been SO tired that I've been mostly sleeping.

Hunting my own food and being mostly outdoors has taken it's toll on me. I have to say I'm quite happy being back home where there is always a comfortable place to nap available, and canned food and kibble is served according a steady schedule.

Friends, I'm proud to say that I've done some awesome stuff today! Yesterday I said I could smell the fishes in the lake. Well, today I was able to taste the fishes. 

This time it wasn't a real live fresh DEAD fish I'm talking about, but a real live fresh LIVING fish I killed and ate, all by myself!!! 

There were actually two small perches I got to eat. I've never felt as close to the nature as today... Some might think that I'm just a spoiled indoor cat who could't kill a spider, but no. I'm perfectly capable of fixing my own dinner even in the great outdoors!

Well, as long as my staff catches the fish for me. And it's not too big... Well, I did it anyway, twice actually! And I can tell you it was DELICIOUS!!!

Today me and my secretary are too sleepy and tired to write anything reasonable. So you have to settle with a video of me taking a nap. It must be the most boring cat video in the cyberspace, but here you go!

 

 

Well, rumour has it that we would be going to the lake cabin on the weekend, so there is hope that I get to have the freshest real live dead fish again!

White fish, come to papa!

I had some white fish today! Live fresh dead smoked white fish straight from our grill!!

 

 

Look how delish they look right there in the grill! I could even skip the grilling part and just EAT them like that! But the staff insisted... I guess they can't eat the fish like that, their "sensitive stomach" might get upset. Poor excuse in my opinion.

 

 

But I have to say the smoked fish was also very good.

Oh I'm so glad after all that I have the big one in my staff... Allthough he doesn't usually feed me my basic cat food, and allthough we don't always see eye to eye on all of the things, he sure knows how to make special meals for me. He's the master chef of the live fresh dead meat and fish in our house. The secretary can't really compete with that. Anyways, it's good that there is an important role for each member of my staff. I've heard that it is important for people to know their role in an working environment in order to feel motivated. So, I think they should be thankful for having such a clever boss!

It ain't always easy being a cat

Friends, once again I've become an innocent victim of a case of Too Busy Staff. It seems that starting school and work after a long holiday causes the staff to lose their focus totally.

I mean, I haven't been given decent lap time for some days now. Yesterday I managed to get a short "power-lap" time, but I'm not sure if quality makes up for quantity. 

I don't know how desperately I should show my need for some cuddles and attention, but tonight I really went all in and gave my best performance. I think the secretary finally got my hint...

After all this trouble, I FINALLY got my lap time. And also the best part, a DECENT evening snack!!

 

I guess the secretary felt a sting on her conscience, as she should have. Maybe she will now make a point of reserving more time for me!

Oh, how lovely bunch of roses the secretary had brought for me! They smell nice!

Maybe I could taste them a bit too...

What was that? I'm not allowed to? So you say they aren't for me at all? Bummer. Just keep your stupid flowers then. What use there is of them if one isn't allowed to play with them at all... Next time, bring me some fresh catmint!

Self service

Staff, you know I can get myself some kibble if I want to...

...but do you expect me to open these cans by myself too?!? Not going to work. It's your job, and I need you to do it NOW!

A happy meal

Not the famous Happy Meal you might think, but a meal that made me VERY happy! The staff were having a good steak for dinner, and I got to eat some raw bites of it when the big one was preparing the meal. Yummy!!! Real fresh dead beef!!! 

This Caturday was just upgraded a notch!

New means of transportation

 

The good thing with your staff is, that you can come up with innovative ways to make use of them. Like here, I'm using the big one to transport me. Good thing that he is - you know - big, so I can see and reach high places too.

 

In this picture, he is however not going to the fridge as I'm telling him to, so I had to get rid of him and go there myself. Some training is needed again.

Too busy

Friends, I have a problem with my too busy staff. Since they started working this week, I really haven't been able to allocate any entertaining tasks for them. They claim they are too busy. We haven't even had time to visit any of your blogs lately. That is unexcusable I think. 

Well, next week also the kids go to school, so I will have my house all to myself a bit more. That will allow me to calm my annoyed nerves a bit I think.

Booooring...

Yawn!! This heatwave we're having is starting to get to us and we don't really have energy for anything. The summer and the heat is lovely, but we Northeners aren't quite used to having more than +30 celsius for this long. 

Well, it will be over someday soon and we'll be complaining about the snow. Business as usual that is.
