Under the palm tree

Oh how I miss summer... Even the palm tree has moved in from the terrace, since the nights and days are beginning to be too chilly. 

I was trying to get a feeling of the sweet summer back for a while by hanging out with the palm tree, but it didn't really feel the same. Oh crap. I guess I just have to give in and accept that summer is really over for now...

The thing with a knitted vest

I have developed a slight addiction of a grey knitted vest my mom has. After the summer she organized her walk-in-closet, and this wonderful thing appeared on one of the shelves. She had been hiding the knitted vest in a storage box.

 

 

Oh how lovely it is... I just want to roll around on it!

 

My mom was a bit surprised when she came home the other day and found this on the floor of the walk-in-closet... She had forgotten the door open, so I had taken the matters in my own paws, and gone after the lovely knitted vest. I dragged it on the floor, rolled on it a while, tasted it a bit, and then... I guess I was done. Obviously I couldn't put it BACK on the shelf, so that's why my mom figured out what I had done...

 

This has actually happened quite many times, that my mom finds this vest laying on the floor. Well, I just can't help myself, there IS something about this knitted vest...

Thoughtful human

My secretary really made an effort to arrange me a nice napping place today. She washed loads of laundry, dryed it on the dryer, and put the soft, clean and warm laundry on the counter top so I could just choose the best spot to have my nap on.

This time I opted for a pair of trousers of one of the kids. I purred and purred happily while my mom arranged the rest of the clothes to the cIosets. I looked so cute that my mom didn't have a heart to take those trousers away from me... So I was able to take a looooong and nice nap in peace in the laundry room. 

Caturday bliss

Oh how lovely and relaxed Caturday I've had so far. After my secretary was running some errands for the whole morning, she finally figured out that I need her on the sofa as a nap support. You see, I love to take a nap leaning on her feet or lap. That means I'm not completely on her lap but only partly. That's the way to do it friends.

It was so lovely to doze off right there on the sofa with my mom while it's cold and windy outside. Bliss.

Movie night!

It's Friday, almost the best day of the week! Like normal people, we spend it staring at the television. After a hard working week it is basically all we are capable of doing.

Maybe after a good nights sleep we might be able to do something more interesting.

Game night

The kid and the secretary were playing scrabble the other night. I thought I'd share my wisdom and shouted out a couple of words I thought would have been in place. 

Well, as usual they didn't quite get my drift, or do you see words like "catsrule", "carlosthegreatest", "feedthecatforcodssake" or "letthecattakeanapinpeace" there? I didn't think so either... Imagine the amount of points they could have gotten if they would have listened to my advise... 

Anyhow, weekend is coming, hallelujah!!!

SNOW!?!?!

OMC, we weren't prepared for this at ALL! The first snow fell last night!

There wasn't much of it, but some anyways! We don't like snow! Well the kids love it but we others don't. 

Luckily we know that this snow will melt quite fast, but we consider us warned. The winter is coming sooner or later...

This is a dying snowball. The kids made it in the morning when they had like two minutes to go to school. But as proper Finns they are, they can make a decent snowball in seconds. In the afternoon it was still alive, but I know it won't make it for long...

Bubblebath for me?

The other day I noticed the secretary had prepared a bubblebath for something or someone. I thought it was for me. Not that I would have wanted to take a bath, but one can still be curious about it.

Fortunately it wasn't for me, but for some table cloths or something. I was relieved! I don't think cats and bubblebaths should never cross paths!!

Ray of light

Allthough the weather has turned into a cool and breezy fall type of thing, we still had some sweet sunlight today.

I guess we just need to embrace the new season with all that it has in store for us. For the non Finnish readers, the late fall and winter around here gets very dark and the days get very short. My secretary dislikes this season quite a lot, she's more of a summer person. Well, somehow we will need to struggle and survive through September and October. When November arrives, we can slowly start preparing for Catmas!!

Not so muchos nachos

I found a lonely corn puff just laying on the floor. I thought I'd play with it a bit.

It was fun until the stupid puff slipped under the sofa! I tried to go after it, but you can guess and see how it went...

When I was a kitten I used to just slide under the sofa so easily, the whole of me. Nowadays? Not so much. The most of me didn't follow the first part of me under the sofa. I guess I'm not a tiny kitten anymore...

Well good night then!

So there went the whole Caturday! I have barely seen the secretary during the whole day. First she went to a fish fair and participated on a fishing contest with the kid. Well, they didn't get anything. I still hope they would have taken me with them! They said many of the participants did get some fish. AND one could have bought fresh, cooked, grilled, ALL kinds of fish there. But they didn't bring me anything...

Then she went swimming with the kids, which I don't understand at all... The kids would spend all their days in the water if they could, they are weird like that. 

So now it's night already, and I'm starting my sleep in the kid's bed. All there is for today is a foggy picture of me sleeping.

Friday!!!

It's the second best day of the week!!

I guess the joy of Friday got even the big one all soft and cuddly, and he gave me some proper scritches. 

So now we're all set for some Friday night quality time on the sofa and in front of the tv!

So what now?

After all the excitement and the adventures, this ordinary life seems suddenly a bit boring. Today I had some difficulties to come up with something to blog about. So the secretary pointed at me with her camera, just when I was preparing myself to a nap, hoping to get a good shot and something to write about. I thought that was just plain annoying.

Come on... Let me yawn in peace! 

So I thought it was time for the back of disrespect. Then I finally got to get my peace and quiet time.

Relax

After my adventurous weekend at the cottage I've been very busy recovering from all that outdoors and actvities.

And what would be a better way to do that than taking serial naps on various locations. Here an excellent example on such activities on the sofa. 

So slowly but surely I've recovered back to my indoor catness. I do agree with you now, that it was a good thing that I didn't stay in the woods. My staff told me that around there I could have bumped into a venomous snake, a bear or a lynx! Or just an ordinary dog on the loose. Anyways, I wouldn't like meeting any of those creatures, so I plan to stay close to my staff from now on...

In the woods

At the lake cottage I'm always held on the leash, so that I wouldn't be able to run away. However, I like to try to get off my leash every now and then, if I feel that it is prohibiting me to get some place more interesting.

Well, this time I freed myself once, and ran deep into the woods...

Somewhere there I went. The staff were a bit worried for a second, but the secretary trusted that  I'm too much of a comfortable indoor cat to spend too much time on my own, before returning to my canned food served on the terrace.

They were calling after me, and walking into the woods. The naive kitty that I am, I meowed back of course... Finally they saw me, and took in use their secret weapon... The laser pointer and the red dot! I was lured back with the stupid red dot! I just couldn't resist that!

Well, I guess it was good to come back, or else I would have missed all that fish.

So as I said, there were all kinds of adventures on our cottage trip...

Just like the old days...

Some of you might remember that we used to have an aquarium before? I used to be very interested in it, and that was one of the reasons my staff got rid of it. 

Well, at the cottage I was able to play with a kind of aquarium of my own!

Perches in a bucket!! Just for me! But, once again I noticed that it isn't that easy to actually catch the fish... The stupid WATER was on the way again! I really don't like to get my paws wet, so I wasn't able to catch the fish myself... Well, luckily my staff helped me with that. 

Fishes here, fishes there...

...fishes EVERYwhere! OMC, the second day at the cottage was filled with fish! The kids were fishing the basic old fashioned way, and the amount of small perches they got was just amazing to a kitty like me! There were so many of them that I couldn't even eat them all! I would have been allowed to, but I just couldn't, what a shame...

Even my secretary got me a perch! Here it is!

Yummy! I wish all of you could have  joined me, I could have offered you a nice dinner!

See? Two buckets filled with fresh real live living fish! Sometimes life is good!

Self service (part 2?)

As we all cats know, humans are often very slow and late with their food service. My staff isn't any exception. Luckily this time at the cottage I could access some of my food myself!

At night when I suddenly got hungry, I just took this bag of my dry food, ripped it open and started to eat. Quite handy!

Fish!

Friends, I'm eating real fresh  live living fish again!

It's dark and chilly at the cottage but I don't care since I got fish! Got to go now, have a great weekend, over and out!

Nip tea?

I was snoopervising the secretary today, since she was doing something very interesting. She was making tea for herself (yes, it's really a coffee maker but she uses it sometimes for making tea. Since she doesn't drink coffee, she's weird that way), and I was curious of what she was putting in the machine.

Is it tea or nip you have there? 

Tea? Are you really sure? It sure looks like nip to me... Well, the smell isn't quite right but still.

I think I need to investigate that bag of tea a bit more when she isn't looking...

Cat dryer

Luckily the secretary wasn't going to use the dryer at the time, so I didn't get to go on a spin. 

Anyways, the dryer wasn't that interesting place after all, but I would have enjoyed the view for a while still. BUT as usual, the human spoiled the fun and lifted me down. Oh well, I needed a snack anyways.
