Let's call it a night!

What? It isn't bedtime yet?

I followed the kids and my secretary upstairs this evening, and I kind of thought it was bedtime already. This is where I usually start my night time rest, at the foot end of the bed that belongs to the smallest kid. But apparantly it wasn't time to sleep yet, since they were just playing with the PS3. Well, I thought I'd take a nap just in case.

Until very annoyingly the secretary came to lay beside me, and she seemed to be longing for some kitty cuddles and giving scritches to me. Well, nice thought, but right then and there I would have appreciated some privacy and a quiet nap, not her talking to me with her silly voice and scritching me! She would have had the whole day to do that (but no, she had to be at "work"), but at that very moment I chose not to be cuddled at all. So I had to walk away. It was a shame though, all those cuddles going to waste, but I'm still an independent kitten and I need to be able to decide when I want cuddles and when not. Humans really should respect that. She'll get her change another time!

  1. You're right, it's SO annoying when the humans want to cuddle us and we're not in the mood. Don't they realize it's only when and if WE want the attention? Tell your human to get herself a stuffed cat or another cuddly stuffed toy--she can snuggle with that until you deign to allow yourself to be fawned over.

    1. It's so nice to get some peer support on this very difficult issue! Good idea you have there, maybe I could throw Carlos the 2nd at her when she next time tries to get too close when I'm not in the mood... Carlos the 2nd can take her cuddles then!

  2. Saku lets the mom bean know when he doesn't want cuddles...he bites her. She doesn't like that furry much and comes looks for one of us. Hey, there's an idea, you need a brofur or sisfur who will snuggle with the bean when you don't want to! MOL

    1. That's a good way too! I'm not sure if I want a brofur or sisfur, I wouldn't like to share my food. Or toys. Especially not the nip and snacks! I think I settle for a stuffed brofur so far!

  3. Oh no dude, you have a Needy Human. You have to get that sorted or she'll be out of control. You have to set boundaries. Show her who is the boss. You!

    1. Oh there's even a term for this? Of course, it must be a very common problem. Thanks for your support, I'm going to stay strong with this issue!

  4. Amigo Carlos, vou te dizer uma coisa, não entra na cabeça dos humanos que nós somos independentes e merecemos mais respeito, desista amigo eles não aprendem nunca.

  5. Holy Cod. Your Humans will have to learn that it's All About You, and not the other way 'round. Paws crossed you got some bright ones or it's uphill all the way...

    1. Good idea... allthough, I've only seen white paint around here, my staff has no imagination when it comes to decorating the house! White paint on a white wall doesn't quite get the message through I think... But maybe the dark floor would work as a canvas...
